Kixify Connects New Bedford Sneaker Shop To The World!
By antisneakerhead - Feb 1, 2016
New Bedford isn’t exactly the first place you think of when the topic of sneaker hot spots on the East Coast come to mind. Situated about an hour away from Boston, the city didn’t really have a place where sneakerheads could come together to buy and sell the kicks that we all love to talk about. That all changed about two years ago when U7 opened up shop on city’s South End on Rivet Street.
Owned by a few sneakerheads and ran by a passionate staff, U7 has the staples of a quality sneaker consignment shop, from the shelves all lined up with recent releases and classics from back in the day to the clean flooring that probably squeaks with soul when a pair of retros hit the hardwood. The shop quickly became the go-to for local sneakerheads to converge and be among their peers, which is something they did not have before. With a dedicated customer base, U7 has grown in their two years in business and was recently featured in their local newspaper. According to customer and New Bedford resident Christian Robinson, “[i]t’s something you wouldn’t expect to be here… I can’t believe I have a place like this I can just drive down to.”
While U7 caters to the New Bedford sneaker scene, they also have a following across the world to places as far as Singapore. How? They also maintain averified Kixify store, where they currently have hundreds of listings ranging from Air Jordan 1 Royals to Balenciaga Arenas to King Push adidas EQT collabs and even vintage Sauconys, New Balance and Asics. In 2015, U7 sold more than $200,000 worth of sneakers on Kixify and their seller page was viewed close to 700,000 times.
