NBA Kicks On Fire: John Wall Rocks Air Jordan 12 French Blue And Buscemi For The All-Star Game!
By Juan Martinez - Feb 15, 2016
Being a sneaker free agent means you can do just about anything you damn well please. Take John Wall, for example. If he was still an adidas athlete, there’s a good chance the majority of the sneaker world would have ignored him and his J Wall 2s. But last night at the NBA All-Star Game, he got everybody talking with his kicks. Prior to the game, he teased that he was going to wear the Nike Kobe 11 Last Emperor on the NBA’s Twitter account. That turned out to be a red herring.
During the pre-game warm-ups, he was spotted rocking a pair of Buscemi sneakers actually made for competitive sport. The luxury brand – which we covered here recently – was “banned” from making their on-court debut however, because of their signature gold locks. If this isn’t the start of a brilliant marketing campaign for the brand, I don’t know what is…
By the game tipped off, Wall had made his decision and it was a good one if you’re a fan of Air Jordan 12s. Wall scored 22 points in the Air Jordan 12 French Blue Retro. This isn’t the first time the French Blue has made it to the All-Star Game, as Ray Allen wore them in the 2004 edition and in a cosmic coincidence since everything has to tie back to the Mamba, Kobe Bryant also wore those 12s during the 2003-04 NBA season.
