Puma Taps Sneaker Legend for Latest Collaboration
BY STEPHEN TAIBI
Puma has put a new spin on their Clyde and Suede Mid silhouettes by teaming up with Bobbito Garcia, a sneaker culture forefather with a long list of collaborations on his resume.
The inspiration behind the Suede Mid design from the pack comes from Garcia's critically acclaimed book, Where’d You Get Those? New York City’s Sneaker Culture: 1960- 1987. The phrase "Where did you get those?" actually appears on the shoe via the insole and the quarter panel on its upper. The Puma Clyde, the more ubiquitous model of the two, has the words "Guard Up" embossed in gold on its upper.
These Bobbito-designed Puma sneakrs are in stores now for anyone looking to purchase a pair.
